The agent of Porto winger Jesus Corona has revealed that he has held talks with Chelsea over a possible move to Stamford Bridge this summer.
The Mexican international is reportedly a backup option for Jadon Sancho, and when asked about potential interest from the Blues, Matias Bunge said the London club have him listed as one of their potential targets:
“At some point we talked to them. I cannot say if he’s option A, B or C, now they are rather rumours. We’ll have to wait a bit for this to continue moving forward and for the leagues to begin again, and from there see what the next movements will be because the market is a little bit stopped.”
Bunge also confirmed that Corona has a €30m (£27m) release clause but fans on Twitter are sceptical whether he’d have the quality to be a regular first-team player:
We can do better than this even if Sancho fails

I think he'd be Option D . Really haven't heard anything linking him to Chelsea. Just agent talk

Corona is 27..currently playing his best football…we need more than corona

I'd rather Atal, if we're talking about a versatile player who can play FB or wing.

Benrahma is better

As we mentioned in our profile of the 27-year-old earlier this week, the Mexican can play in a number of different positions, including right-wing, right-back, left-wing and as a number 10.
With Corona having also bagged 17 assists this campaign, manager Frank Lampard may have also been attracted to his creativity. It would be hard to make the case, though, that he is at the same level of someone like Sancho.
