‘Watch Out For Chelsea’: Report Claims Slovakian Star Could Join The Blues If He Rejects 119K A Week Contract Offer

Chelsea could make an approach for Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar if he turns down a new deal to remain with the Nerazzurri, according to Calciomercato.it.

The Italian website claims Inter have made a final contract offer worth €7m a season (£119,000 a week) to the Slovakian international but it might not be enough for him to sign on the dotted line.

Up until now, Paris Saint-Germain have been backed as the favourites to land Skriniar, after first making a move for the centre-back last summer. Teams such as Tottenham, Arsenal, Manchester City and Liverpool have also been mentioned as potential suitors in the English press.

However, Calciomercato.it say that Inter must “watch out for Chelsea” who are “ready to step in” along with Spurs and Real Madrid.

Skriniar’s contract situation means he can formally speak to foreign clubs about a free transfer within days, so there are likely to be further developments on the 27-year-old’s future in the coming weeks.
