Unlucky Chelsea Fail To Move To 2nd Place

Chelsea looked promising on the pitch with players like Hazard and Matic managing to create some good occasions to score. The Belgium international who was out of grace with Mourinho even hit the post early in the game but unfortunately did not manage to do more than that. The Portuguese boss put up a pretty standard formation and did not use Baba as a left-back. He went for Zouma instead who managed a decent performance. There was a lot of fuss during the 17th minute when Fabregas shouted penalty but was denied by the referee. After the game Mourinho called out the referee and accused him of being naïve.

In terms of statistics both teams came out pretty balanced which is a bit strange considering the fact that Chelsea dominated. It was not enough though for the Blues to get closer to Porto who are leading the group with 7 points. The problem is that Mourinho still hasn’t found a solution for the bad patch Chelsea are going through. Dynamo Kiev should not be a name to worry about when you have the latest Premier League trophy in your trophy case. Something needs to be done quickly as the rest of the year will decide what the future holds. Chelsea will face Tottenham, Liverpool and Manchester United which means they will pretty much know where they stand as far as the Premier League goes. They will also face Porto and Dynamo Kiev at home. Getting 15 points out of these 5 games will be crucial as the Champions League and the Premier League still remain the club’s primary targets.
