UEFA’s Financial Fair-Play Rules To Send Hazard Packing

Chelsea need to make some quick changes in order to keep 24 year old star, Eden Hazard at Stamford Bridge. The winger has yet to extend his contract with the Londoners who have been pushing for a new agreement for a while. The Belgian international who is currently the most influential footballer in Mourinho’s squad, does not look happy with the fact that Costa and Fabregas make almost twice as much as him. With a new deal on the table, Chelsea’s top scorer from last season is requesting a £300,000 per week salary which would match up with what the two Spaniards are making. Unfortunately for Chelsea, UEFA’s financial fair-play limitations could prevent the Blues from meeting the Belgian’s expectations.

Because of that negotiations have stalled and clubs like Real or PSG have started putting together plans to sign up the 24 year old. According to Metro, things are now somewhat balanced after Schurrle, Bertrand and Salah have left. Even so, cutting down costs would have been more effective if Cuadrado would not have joined Chelsea. With the transfer period closed, Mourinho needs to move fast in order not to lose Hazard. Since the beginning of the season, rumors had it that he is not happy at the club and that he would prefer a different competition other than the Premier League. News like that and the fact that Hazard has not signed a contract extension yet give hopes especially to Real Madrid who could be a preferred destination for the Belgian.
