“Tuchel Likes The Player A Lot…” Agent Reveals Chelsea Were Keen On Signing 56M Rated Serbian International

Sergey Milinkovic-Savic’s representative Mateja Kezman has said that Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel is a massive fan of the Serbian international.

There were reports earlier this summer that Lazio’s sporting director Igli Tare had held talks with the Blues about the €65m (£56m) rated playmaker but Kezman says that, while Tuchel “likes” Milinkovic-Savic, he wasn’t the type of midfielder he was looking for:

“Chelsea? Tuchel likes the player a lot, but he needed a central [midfielder]”.

Kezman also went on to say that Milinkovic-Savic was the subject of interest from Arsenal and Newcastle, although reports about a potential move to Manchester United were wide of the mark.

The 27-year-old is an attack-minded player at heart so Tuchel may have been right in thinking that he wouldn’t be a good fit for Chelsea’s two-man midfield.

Another option, Barcelona’s Frenkie de Jong, would probably match the profile better, but we shall see if a bid is made for the Dutch international before the transfer window shuts on Thursday.
