Tuchel Has ‘Put The Name’ Of 34M Rated Spaniard ‘On The Table’ As Chelsea Consider Hakimi Alternative

Chelsea are considering Wolves winger Adama Traore as a potential alternative to Inter Milan’s Achraf Hakimi, according to AS.

The Madrid-based publication claim that the speedy Spaniard is seen as a viable option with manager Thomas Tuchel having “put the name” of the winger “on the table”.

Reliable reports in the English media over the past month have also linked Traore with a switch to Stamford Bridge, and he would certainly be a cheaper target, considering his contract situation.

The 25-year-old’s current deal at Wolves expires in 2023, so his value will continue to depreciate unless he signs on to fresh terms. AS say that Leeds would be prepared to pay €40m (£34m) for the wide man, but Liverpool’s interest has cooled so the Blues would probably only have one main rival for the Spanish international.

Traore has played as a wingback before and his ability to play multiple different positions is likely to have caught Tuchel’s eye. Whether Chelsea will make a formal offer for the player, we shall have to wait and see.
