Transfer Shock As Romano And Steinberg Claim Tuchel Will Listen To Offers For Chelsea Stalwart

Chelsea centre-back Antonio Rudiger could be sold this summer “if the right offer arrives” according to the Guardian‘s Fabrizio Romano and Jacob Steinberg.

The German international has less than a year left on his contract at Stamford Bridge and, despite playing a key role in helping the Blues lift the Champions League last season, head coach Thomas Tuchel is thought to be open to offloading the 28-year-old.

With Chelsea in talks to sign Sevilla defender Jules Kounde, it seems Tuchel is looking to reshape his backline ahead of his first full season in charge of the London club.

Fikayo Tomori and Marc Guehi have already left, while Kurt Zouma could well follow suit if Sevilla do agree to take him as part of an exchange deal for Kounde.

Rudiger’s potential departure would leave Tuchel with far fewer options to fill his three-man defence. The Blues boss won’t want to head into the campaign with Cesar Azpilicueta, Thiago Silva, Andreas Christensen and Malang Sarr as his only centre-backs so the deal for Kounde looks to be a key priority.
