Torres To Head To Italy?

Fernando Torres’s unfortunate Chelsea experience is coming to an end. Apparently the Spaniard is going to have a change in scenery which is long overdue. His poor performances over the past years and his lack of efficiency have forced the club to put the striker on the transfer list. According to talkSPORT, he might be heading to Italy despite being strongly linked to his former club, Atletico Madrid. The Italian side who have already signed Vidic, are looking to form an experienced group which could help bring them back on top of the Serie A standings. Torres might be perfect for Italian football which is known for its lack of offensive games. A scoring rate similar to that of the Spaniard might not be as frowned upon in Italy as it is in the Premier League.

There is still a long way until an actual bid is placed. Apparently Inter are still waiting for their owner to confirm his plans. Despite the fact that Mourinho publicly expressed his desire to continue working with Torres, there is close to no chance of seeing the striker at Stamford Bridge next year. Even if his contract has not reached its deadline, a move is still very probable. The blues might also still want to stall negotiations until after the World Cup to see which other players emerge from from the crowd and also to see if any Chelsea players (and/or any other team’s players) are injured for that matter. With Diego Costa’s transfer still being discussed, there really is no way of knowing what the future holds until after the World Cup finishes.
