Torres Set For A Change In Scenery

Fernando Torres might have one of his last chances to prove he can still score some goals. After a dreadful 4 years spent at Stamford Bridge where he has managed a Premier League scoring rate of one goal once every six games, the striker could need to start fresh. According to talkSPORT, the Spaniard is on Inter Milan’s wanted-list. The Italian side would be a better fit for Torres who is somewhat inefficient but manages to put all his effort in so is still a useful player making runs in behind etc. Serie A is known for its rather low number of goals scored each season which would take some of the pressure off of Torres’s shoulders. Inter is also currently lacking in star quality players which means the Spaniard will be, next to Vidic, one of the most important players in the starting eleven.

Despite his poor performances Torres was called in to represent Spain. The Spanish boss chose to somehow leave Negredo behind who managed some great performances while at Manchester City this season. Unfortunately for Chelsea’s player, his first performance was less than convincing, managing to miss from 3 feet in front of the empty goal. It was a rather forgettable moment for the 30 year old who was repeatedly involved in similar situations during the entire Premier League season. He failed to adapt to the Blues’ playing style and it might just be time for him to leave considering his contract is set to expire pretty soon.
