Title Pressure Could Work Against Chelsea – Milner

The Blues are the team to beat this season and grinded out a 2-1 win over struggling Queens Park Rangers despite not being at their best and could only tie 1-1 with Maribor. They have dropped just four points away to the Manchester clubs and Jose Mourinho’s side currently hold a six point advantage over third-placed Man City.

However, Milner believes that Chelsea are bound to have a dip in form sooner rather than later and he said that the pressure could get to the London side, according to talkSPORT.

He said, “It could play into our hands. You’re never going to go throughout the whole season playing well, you have ups and downs, but it’s all about how you get through that. That’s one of the pleasing things about the win today, we weren’t at our best but we got tight and kept a clean sheet and eventually won the game through a moment of brilliance from Sergio. When you’re not playing well that’s what all big teams have to do, they get the results regardless.”

He added, “We just want to keep doing our job and keep churning out the results to stay as close as we can to Chelsea. They’ve started very well but I’m sure they’ll have a dip in form during the season as well, so we have to make sure we’re there ready to take advantage of that if it happens. I think this win today can kick start our form, get us back on track and get our performances to the level we know we’re capable of.”

Do you think the pressure will get to Chelsea and they will blow their lead in the title race?
