Three Strikers Who Chelsea Could Sign In The Summer

Chelsea spent an astronomical amount of money in January, purchasing a slew of talented footballers – but one thing they did not buy was a natural striker.

Currently, the only out-and-out centre forward at the club is 33-year-old Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who has been so unimpressive this season, he has been left out of Chelsea’s Champions League squad.

As such, Chelsea will need to enter the hunt for a world-class striker in the summer. Given Todd Boehly’s transfer policy, they will also need to be relatively young – so who could the Blues go for?

Gianluca Scamacca

While Gianluca Scamacca hasn’t had the best start to life at West Ham, he fits the bill perfectly – he’s young, tall and has an eye for goal.

He hasn’t scored many goals this season – just three in 16 Premier League games – but with the amount of chances created by Chelsea that are begging to be finished off by a lurking striker, it’s likely he’d get better numbers with the Blues.

West Ham only signed the big Italian in the summer, so they’d likely command a large fee for him – but this would probably be a drop in the ocean to Boehly.

Randal Kolo Muani

Randal Kolo Muani looks tailor-made for the Premier League. An adaptable attacking player who can also play on the wing, he’s most comfortable when played as a striker.

He’s tall, physical and very quick. This season, Kolo Muani has scored ten goals and racked up a further 12 assists for Bayer Leverkusen.

The 24-year-old is a complete striker. He’s got decent hold up play, which can be mainly attributed to his strength on the ball, but he’s most comfortable when playing on the shoulder of the last man.

Victor Osimhen

Victor Osimhen is the name on everyone’s lips at this moment in time. His goalscoring record at Napoli this season is, quite frankly, ridiculous – he’s scored 19 goals and registered four assists across 20 Serie A games.

Osimhen combines freakish pace with adroit finishing and clever movement off the ball. Currently, it’s not hyperbole to call him one of the best strikers in the world but he is well and truly on Manchester United’s radar so the Blues will have a fight on their hands to sign him ahead of Erik ten Hag’s well drilled United team

On top of all this, the Nigerian nightmare is just 24 – he’s yet to reach his prime. Could he be the answer to Chelsea’s striker woes?
