Chelsea are one of three Premier League clubs who are scouting Lille striker Victor Osimhen, according to reports in England. Liverpool and Tottenham are also believed to be watching the Nigerian international.
The Blues are after a new forward in the January transfer window, but supporters on Twitter are split on whether a move for the 20-year-old would be a good idea:
Man.. This would be typical Chelsea from the last few years. Oh we played Lille, Osimhen caused problems, quick and easy purchase. I want rumours about Werner hahaha.

He ain’t that bad, he will be a decent backup and is better than Giroud & Michy imo

He’s better than Tammy though… #justsaying

Not a bad back-up plan to Werner, if we do lose Michy for whatever reasons in January.

Finally. The player Chelsea needs, and deserves.
So Tammy and Victor gonna be twinning.— ANANTHU HARIKRISHNAN (@ananthu_may6) December 19, 2019
If we want an out and out striker then he is a better option then werner.. i know werner scores alot of goals but he wont get that kind of space in PL and his hold up play is hardly there. I would rather have him, jovic, dembele, jimenez over werner as a striker.

Just linked to everyone now.. Liverpool and Tottenham can have him

No chance this is happening. If we are to compete with city & Liverpool, we need Timo. The more I watch him I find that he does the simplest thing, pass or score. Won’t make the fans scream for either….he will do the right thing time and again just like Diego Costa.

Lille are reportedly keen to keep Osimhen until the summer and will only countenance bids in January if an offer meets their valuation. The player himself is also in no rush to leave.
Chelsea’s interest does make sense if you consider his age and his potential. The Nigerian has scored 12 goals in 23 appearances and he only turns 21 at the end of the month.
However, he would not be at the same level as other strikers that the club are said to be targeting. RB Leipzig’s Timo Werner is the player that many fans would like to see arrive next month.
