Chelsea are prepared to pay €30m (£27m) to sign Getafe left-back Marc Cucurella, according to reports in the Spanish media.
Getafe only recently signed the 22-year-old from Barcelona on a permanent basis for €10m (£9m), after he spent the season on loan at the La Liga club, but it seems the Blues are willing to triple what they paid for him.
Supporters on Twitter are sceptical about the source of the story and some are not sure Cucurella has the quality to play for Chelsea:
This has got me excited.. not sure if AS is a credible source

We should stay away from him. Sign Tagliafico

I really like Cucurella. I think he's the type of player we need. Very fast, non stop energy! very young too.

Please just sign a proper left back. I've not watched a lot of him but he is more like wingback.

It is thought that Leicester’s Ben Chilwell remains manager Frank Lampard’s first choice to strengthen at left-back, while there have been reports that Ajax’s Nicolas Tagliafico is the club’s backup option.
Where Cucurella stands in the pecking order of priorities, it is anyone’s guess. The Spaniard looks to be valued at a higher price than Tagliafico so it would be a big surprise if Chelsea are willing to pay more for the Getafe player than the Argentinian international.
