Thibaut Courtois brings to an end Real Madrid speculation with latest comments

Thibaut Courtois has ended speculation that he will leave Chelsea this summer for Real Madrid, insisting he remains committed to the South West London club.

The Belgian was reported to be on his way out of Stamford Bridge, with Madrid keen to take on the 26-year-old as a long term replacement for Keylor Navas.

Courtois joined Chelsea in 2011, but initially spent three seasons on-loan with Atletico Madrid, where he established himself as one of Europe’s top shot-stoppers.

Since returning the Blues in 2014, Courtois has continued his fine form to help Chelsea to two Premier League titles, as well as League Cup and FA Cup titles.

Reports suggest that Courtois would favour a return to Madrid as that is where is children are currently growing up, however Courtois has insisted he is more than happy at Stamford Bridge.

“I’m committed to Chelsea,” he told Standard Sport. “I have a contract until next year and I will be here.”
