The Top Five Best Teenagers Currently Playing In the Premier League

The Premier League has not always been seen as the best place for youngsters to get first-team opportunities, with so much money being spent on transfers.

However, there are some exceptional talents who manage to rise through the youth ranks into the first team and make an impact straight away. So, in this article, we are looking at the best teenagers currently playing in the English top flight.

You may notice some players are not on this list (such as Callum Hudson-Odoi, Curtis Jones and Tariq Lamptey) and that is because they have recently turned 20.

So who do we rank as the top teenagers in the Premier League? Press the next page to find out.

5) Rayan Ait Nouri (Wolves)

The wingback has broken into the first team this season at Molineux, with first-choice Jonny Otto having been ruled out with a serious knee injury.

Ait Nouri is quite raw and he will need time to develop his game in order to become a regular starter in the Premier League but the France Under 21 international has impressed with some of his performances this campaign.

4) Mason Greenwood (Manchester United)

There is no doubt about the 19-year-old’s potential but off the field matters, combined with a dip in form on the pitch, have made his second full season in the first team at Old Trafford more of a challenge.

However, after Greenwood scored 17 goals in all competitions last campaign, it is clear he has the natural goalscoring ability to go far in the game.

3) Gabriel Martinelli (Arsenal)

The Brazilian generated a lot of excitement after bursting onto the scene at the Emirates at the start of the 2019/20 season. However, a knee injury has curtailed his progress since the summer.

Martinelli did return to fitness back in December and it will be interesting to see whether he can replicate the form of his debut campaign over the coming months.

2) Billy Gilmour (Chelsea)

Like Martinelli, the Scottish midfielder had a stunning impact when he first came into the team, with standout performances last season against Everton in the league and Liverpool in the FA Cup.

However, after a knee injury, Gilmour took time to get back to fitness and he was used sparingly by Frank Lampard before he was sacked. Unfortunately, he hasn’t got a look-in under new manager Thomas Tuchel but the German says he is a big fan of the player.

1) Bukayo Saka (Arsenal)

The winger is deservedly top of the list due to his outstanding performances for the Gunners this campaign. The 19-year-old has racked up five goals and contributed three assists in 21 league games so far.

Most Gunners supporters would make Saka their player of the year at the moment, and the sky really is the limit for the teenager.
