Chelsea midfielder Mateo Kovacic was one of the top performers as the Blues sealed a 1-0 win against Tottenham last night.
The Croatian has looked revitalised under manager Thomas Tuchel, performing well in a midfield two alongside Jorginho, and supporters on Twitter were quick to praise the player after the game:
We lost control of the midfield immediately he was substituted . The guy is baller

If only our attackers can be more clinical and position well— Solomon ? Escober (@SolomonEscober) February 4, 2021
Kovacic is not doing anything flashy but he is taking on more responsibility playing in the 3-4-3/3-5-2 system which Tuchel has decided to employ since being appointed as manager.
The 26-year-old is covering a lot of ground, both in possession when making himself available to receive the ball and turn into space, whilst also intercepting and closing passing lanes for the opposition.
With N’Golo Kante now fit and on the bench, it remains to be seen how long Tuchel keeps faith with Kovacic but, if the Croatian international continues in this form, he is unlikely to be dropped any time soon.
