The Guarin-To-Chelsea Saga Nearing Its End?

The Guarin-To-Chelsea Saga Nearing Its End?

Chelsea revealed their interest in Fredy Guarin in the January transfer window and Jose Mourinho, who is a huge admirer of the midfielder, was eager to bring him to Stamford Bridge and even went ahead and made an outright bid of £13 million for his signature.

It was understood that Guarin was himself keen on a switch to England, however he was left high and dry when Inter rejected Chelsea’s offer, and the London outfit then turned to former charge Nemanja Matic and signed him instead for £21 million. In spite of all this, there were some reports still doing the rounds suggesting that the Blues could return for the Colombian in the summer, even though they are relatively well stocked in midfield.

Those rumors will now end you would think as the Mirror report that Guarin is ready to perform a U-turn regarding his desire to leave the San Siro by penning a new deal with the Italian giants. The change in hierarchy at Inter has seen new president Erick Thohir pump some serious funds into building a new look team along with retaining key personnel, starting with sealing Guarin’s signature.

With the announcement of a new deal imminent, will this be the end of the rumors still linking him with a move to Chelsea ahead of next season?
