The Four Matches That Reece James Is Expected To Miss After Latest Injury Setback

Chelsea wingback Reece James is likely to be sidelined for at least two weeks after picking up another hamstring injury, according to reports.

The 22-year-old spent a couple of months sidelined with a hamstring tear in his left leg but he has now suffered a fresh injury in his right leg.

There was some concern that James could be out for a much longer period but a further examination yesterday revealed that the problem is not quite as bad as first feared.

As things stand, James is expected to miss only four matches in total. Tonight’s game against Norwich City, Sunday’s clash versus Newcastle, next Wednesday’s trip to face Lille in the Champions League, as well as the FA Cup tie away at Middlesbrough.

Considering Chelsea are in a pretty commanding position in their Champions League knockout game, and they are facing a Championship side in the cup, manager Thomas Tuchel will probably feel that he can cope without James for the next fortnight. Hopefully, the England international isn’t out for longer than expected.
