The FIVE Forwards That Chelsea Could Sign During The Summer Transfer Window

Although many believed the focus of Chelsea’s summer recruitment would be on reinforcing the defence, following the departures of Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen, most of the transfer speculation recently has been about signing forward players.

Manager Thomas Tuchel is believed to be unhappy with his side’s attacking output last campaign and he is thought to be determined to reformulate his front three so it has greater pace and fluidity.

It’s expected that, once an agreement is reached to offload Romelu Lukaku, the Blues will look to step up their plans to reinforce their frontline.

Press the next page as we list five forwards that the London club are likely to pursue in the coming days and weeks.

Raheem Sterling

This appears to be the likeliest transfer to happen at the moment with reports suggesting that the England international will be sold by Manchester City for £45m.

Sterling is also believed to be open to joining the Blues so, if everything goes to plan, he could well be moving to Stamford Bridge soon.

Christopher Nkunku

Unlike Sterling, a move for the Frenchman is said to be a lot more difficult to pull off this summer, with RB Leipzig keen on keeping the player for another year.

Although Nkunku is someone that would greatly strengthen Chelsea’s attacking output, having scored 35 goals and provided 19 assists last season, a deal looks unrealistic as things stand.

Ousmane Dembele

There is mutual admiration between Tuchel and the player, so there is a strong possibility that the 25-year-old will move to Chelsea on a free transfer, if he decides to leave Barcelona at the end of the month.

The major concern about Dembele is his injury record and, while the Blues won’t have to pay a fee for his services, his salary demands are very high, making it a very risky signing.

Richarlison

When reports surfaced earlier this month that the Brazilian was holding out for a move to Chelsea, there wasn’t much belief that the Brazilian was a priority target for the London club.

However, a switch to Stamford Bridge has begun to gain traction and, if Tuchel can’t secure one of his other forward targets, a bid for Richarlison may well be considered.

Robert Lewandowski

Tuchel is believed to be keen on bringing the Polish legend to London but the likelihood of a deal happening is still pretty low, with the striker still focused on joining Barcelona.

If the La Liga side can’t raise the funds necessary to sign Lewandowski, though, it could be something that the Blues revisit later on in the transfer window.
