The Blues beat off competition from the Bundesliga and other English teams to secure the highly-rated England Under 18 international’s signature earlier this summer.
Sturge is likely to be spending the majority of the season playing for Chelsea’s Under 21 side but there is a chance that the left-back could be given a run out in the early rounds of the Carabao Cup.
