The FIVE Chelsea Starlets Who Could Be Given Chances By Tuchel This Season

Chelsea’s academy continues to produce some of the best young talent in the country, and it’s always interesting to see who is coming through the ranks.

Manager Thomas Tuchel did give debuts to a fair few youngsters from Cobham last season, and fans will be hoping that he continues with that policy going forward.

A couple of players on this list have actually been bought by the club this summer, and they could well make an impression in the senior squad.

Press the next page as we name five young players who Tuchel may offer minutes to in the first team this campaign

Omari Hutchinson

It was a big shock when it was announced that the attacking midfielder had joined Chelsea from Arsenal, and he is someone who will almost certainly be given his senior debut by Tuchel IF he stays at the club.

There is a lot of speculation that Hutchinson will be loaned out to a Championship side so he can gain more first-team experience. We shall see how things develop.

Harvey Vale

The England Under 19 captain was given his debut by Tuchel last season, making five appearances in domestic cup competitions, so it will be interesting to find out what plans are in place for his development this campaign.

Vale was an unused sub on four occasions in the Champions League, while he made the bench for three matches in the league, so the next step could be to give him more game time in higher profile fixtures.

Zak Sturge

The Blues beat off competition from the Bundesliga and other English teams to secure the highly-rated England Under 18 international’s signature earlier this summer.

Sturge is likely to be spending the majority of the season playing for Chelsea’s Under 21 side but there is a chance that the left-back could be given a run out in the early rounds of the Carabao Cup.

Jude Soonsup-Bell

Like Vale, the forward was handed his senior debut by Tuchel last campaign, playing the first 45 minutes in the Carabao Cup tie against Brentford, but it must be said he didn’t make a huge impact playing in Premier League 2.

It suggests that Soonsup-Bell may not be quite ready for senior football, but that doesn’t rule him out from featuring for the first team again if his performances do come on leaps and bounds over the course of the season.

Lewis Hall

The 17-year-old got an assist on his debut during the 5-1 win over Chesterfield in the FA Cup back in January and, while he didn’t get further chances to feature, he is certainly a player that will remain in Tuchel’s thoughts.

One issue for Hall is that he hasn’t settled on one specific position yet. Last campaign, he played as a centre-back, fullback, wingback and holding midfielder, which says a lot about his adaptability, but he will be keen to find a single role to establish himself in the Under 21 setup.
