The Premier League was established in 1992 to help attract more foreign talents to the highest tier of English football – as such, teams in the league have been able to bring in some quality players from Germany.

While not the most well-represented nation in the Premier League, there have been plenty of excellent German players in it previously – such as Bastien Schweinsteiger at Manchester United, Dietmar Hamann at Liverpool and Michael Ballack at Chelsea.
