The Athletic Outlines The THREE Factors That Could Lead To Romelu Lukaku Moving Back To Chelsea This Summer

Chelsea still retain an interest in Inter Milan striker Romelu Lukaku and could yet make a move for the 28-year-old this summer, according to The Athletic.

The website claims there are three important reasons that a deal could well happen if the Blues don’t manage to sign the likes of Erling Haaland or Harry Kane:

One important factor is Inter’s financial situation. While Achraf Hakimi’s move to Paris Saint-Germain has stabilised things, there is a possibility that Lukaku will be sold if they receive an offer in excess of £100m.

Secondly, Chelsea’s board have a very good relationship with the former Manchester United player’s agent, Federico Pastorello, who they have had successful dealings with in the past.

The third and final reason is believed to be Lukaku himself. It is said the Belgian has “unfinished business” at Stamford Bridge and would be open to returning to the club he originally joined all the way back in 2011.
