Chelsea centre-back Andreas Christensen had a night to forget as the Blues missed out on top spot in their Champions League group following a 3-3 draw versus Zenit St Petersburg.
The Danish international was at fault for both of Zenit’s goals in the first half, allowing Claudinho to ghost in unmarked to head in a cross, whilst he played Sardar Azmoun onside before the Iranian slotted home.
Christensen’s contract situation has been well-publicised and many fans on Twitter feel that the 25-year-old should leave if he isn’t completely committed to the club:
I mean, that was such a poor performance

I said it before and I’d say it again that Christensen isn’t up to Chelsea quality

I can't even be angry , I don't how to feel about that performance. Pathetic , he played like an amateur with his friends at the baq

This players should learn to separate their personal life with being on the pitch today was just awful

We should ship him out, he’s never been reliable to be honest

He can get out of the club if he is still unsure at this point….. I can't even believe he thinks he can still keep the club waiting at this point with that spineless performance tonight. We should be more concerned about Rudiger.

Was desperate for him to stay, but if it's so hard for him to decide if he wants to be here then it's probably best he goes.

Be sad to lose him for free, but if he's undecided about signing for the club he's been at since he was 16, then go and try his luck elsewhere

Looks good when he’s surrounded by good players that’s it

Manager Thomas Tuchel’s comments about Christensen have undoubtedly affected the centre-half’s performances. While the defender and his agent have seemingly been less than straightforward with their dealings in talks over recent months, the player is likely to have been alienated by how the contract dispute has been made public. A departure from Stamford Bridge is now looking increasingly likely.
