Chelsea have been handed a boost by the news that fullback Reece James did not break his ankle playing for England Under 20s last week.
The 19-year-old had to be stretchered after being injured in the first half of the match against Chile on Friday.
James had to be given oxygen, with many supporters concerned that he could be out for many months. It is now believed, though, that he only suffered damaged ligaments.
Supporters on Twitter are relieved to hear about the news:

After a superb season out on loan at Wigan in the Championship, where he was named in the league’s team of the year, many have been hoping to see James in the first team next season.
Whether he’ll recover in time for preseason, it remains to be seen, but fears that he may miss the start of the new campaign for Chelsea have now been eased.
