Terry Set To Sign New Chelsea Deal

Chelsea’s management decided it is time to start negotiations for an extension to John Terry’s contract. The Blues’ captain has only a few months left on his current deal and is looking to continue playing on Stamford Bridge. According to the Telegraph both sides seem keen on collaborating for at least one more season.

Terry who has made over 600 appearances for Chelsea might have to give up a consistent amount of money in order to continue his journey with the Blues. His current £150.000 a week salary is a bit high for a player of his age from Mourinho’s side.

The English international seemed pretty convinced he can carry on playing for at least two more seasons which can be a problem considering Chelsea’s contract policy regarding players over 30. He will likely not receive an extension longer than 12 months which means a compromise might be expected on his behalf.

On the other hand Terry spent over 16 years playing for Chelsea. He constantly declared his love for the club and his desire to end his career while wearing the blue shirt. Luckily for JT, Mourinho has always been interested in having one or two experienced player around which means an agreement could definitely be reached before the beginning of the summer.
