Chelsea managed to get a draw against Premier League rivals Manchester City and maintain a solid gap between them and the Citizens. Despite the harsh rivalry between the two sides who are fighting for the title this season, one moment stood out. Lampard’s return home was a very emotional time for both fans and Chelsea players who were visibly moved after seeing how the former captain was received at Stamford Bridge. According to the Daily Mail, Terry was the one who was most moved by seeing Lampard whom he called a Chelsea legend.

Terry went as far as to post a post-game picture on Instagram, which showed the defender and Lampard together. It was even more emotional for Lampard who has dedicated his career to the Blue shirt but was not rewarded perhaps as he should have been. The club let him walk away and through some unexpected moves, turned him into what fans never believed to be possible: one of Chelsea’s opponents. Lampard was clearly uncomfortable playing against his former team but proved once again he is a true professional. Hopefully for this true Chelsea legend, this will be the last time he has to face the club to which he dedicated 13 years of his life and for which he broke record after record.
