Terry Hoping He Will End His Career With Chelsea

Chelsea’s captain John Terry, has high hopes for what is to come. Even though he is still on hold as far as his contract goes, the English international is confident his performances will keep him at Stamford Bridge. Mourinho’s team is set on implementing their new strategy as far as players over the age of 30 go. They will no longer receive contracts that exceed 1 year in length. With that in mind JT has to do some serious thinking with the winter transfer period just around the corner.

Terry managed to hit an impressive milestone during the game against Southampton. He celebrated his 400th Premier league appearance by scoring Chelsea’s second goal.

The Englishman’s situation is a bit complicated considering his age. He just turned 33 which is well above Chelsea’s age average as far as the starting eleven goes. Even so his performances keep his hopes up. He is currently the number one choice as far as Mourinho’s defensive line goes which says a lot if you consider Luiz is on the bench because of Terry.

Terry insists his numbers don’t lie and that his career is more than enough to get him a contract extension. He recently spoke about his plans for the future and said he intends on ending his career at Stamford Bridge. According to Metro he is now waiting to receive an extension to his deal which expires at the end of this season.

After having a poor 2012-2013 season, the captain is definitely back. His confidence has shot up with every game since Mourinho returned and he looks very determined to win more trophies with Chelsea. Terry spoke about the Blues’ chances of winning the Premier League and about his ability to help his team. He is very confident he can even improve on his goal scoring stats which are not too shabby for a defender. He has managed 34 goals in 400 appearances which is pretty impressive for a defender.
