Sutton Makes Bold Statement About Sarri’s Future At Chelsea

Former Chelsea striker Chris Sutton doesn’t believe Maurizio Sarri will be in charge of the Blues for the Carabao Cup Final.

The London club face Manchester City on Sunday afternoon but the former player turned pundit doesn’t think Roman Abramovich and the board will risk keeping the Italian in charge for the showpiece at Wembley:

“He’s done. He’ll get the sack for numerous reasons – things he’s said, that he can’t motivate the players, his inability to be able to adapt and change. He won’t survive tonight. Well he might until 9am tomorrow [Tuesday].”

It must be said there have been no reports that Sarri will be axed between now and the weekend. Sutton does seem to be jumping the gun a bit.

However, the loss to Manchester United in the FA Cup last night has certainly piled the pressure on the Chelsea manager.

Supporters were vocally dissenting during the match yesterday, and another poor performance against City may prove to be the final straw for some.

A win against Pep Guardiola’s side would, though, change perceptions. Even if that seems unlikely at the moment, the game this weekend could very well determine Sarri’s future.
