Chelsea forward Timo Werner did not have the best of games in a Blues shirt last night. The German international missed a sitter in the opening few minutes of the 2-1 victory against Rennes, and also missed a golden opportunity late on before Olivier Giroud headed in the rebound.
There is no doubt that the 24-year-old has been overworked in recent weeks and a number of supporters on Twitter are worried about the forward’s form, with some asking for manager Frank Lampard to give him a rest:
Shocker today. Surprised Frank didn't sub him earlier

It would be a tough call to bench Werner for one of the biggest games of the season so far against Spurs at the weekend. However, Lampard does have a lot of options if he wants to change things.
With Christian Pulisic now fit, he could use the American international off the left flank, or even swap Callum Hudson-Odoi from the right-hand side in order to accommodate Hakim Ziyech. We shall have to wait and see who Lampard chooses on Sunday.
