Super Agent Has ‘Spoken’ To Chelsea As Club Consider Bold Nine Figure Move For Portuguese Ace

Super agent Jorge Mendes has “spoken” to Chelsea about a potential deal for AC Milan winger Rafael Leao, according to Gazzetta Dello Sport.

The Italian publication claims conversations were held to determine whether the Portuguese international would be available this summer.

However, Leao is perfectly happy to stay with the Serie A champions and there are a number of obstacles that make a move before the transfer window closes “almost impossible”.

Milan won’t let the player leave for below his €150m (£127m) release clause, and there is an ongoing court case involving one of his previous clubs, Sporting Lisbon, who are currently owed another €20m (£17m).

From the looks of things, a deal for Leao looks beyond the reach of the Blues, despite the 23-year-old being one of Thomas Tuchel’s top transfer targets.

Even so, three other transfers could be sanctioned before the deadline. The club remain in talks to sign the likes of Leicester’s Wesley Fofana, Everton’s Anthony Gordon and Barcelona’s Pierre Emerick Aubameyang.
