Chelsea have made an enquiry for Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani, according to reports in the English media.
The Blues are said to be prepared to offer the 32-year-old an 18-month contract to make the move to Stamford Bridge, but it is being reported that PSG will demand around £23m for the player.
Considering Cavani has less than six months left on his contract at the Parc des Princes, it is a surprisingly high figure and the majority of fans on Twitter don’t think that Chelsea should pay it:
23m! Stay away for that price.

23mill with six months on his deal on huge wages? What are they smoking, 15 tops

Interesting to see actually how much they do want. Cannot see it being £23m as if no one buys they then lose him for free. I think it will be more like £15m.

PSG are not in the position of strength, though. Free agent in a few months and a giant salary on their spreadsheet.

Competition for Cavani appears to be high, with Atletico Madrid also believed to be keen on the Uruguayan so PSG are looking to get the most they can for the forward.
However, the player has already handed in a transfer request, and with the ability to sign a pre-contract agreement with any club ahead of a free transfer in July, PSG may well have to lower their demands in order to secure a sale this month.
