Sporting Lisbon’s Bruma Wants To Join Chelsea

Sporting Lisbon’s 18-year old Bruma has been highly regarded by a few top European clubs like Chelsea, Galatasaray and Manchester City who all view him as the next big thing. He had a highly productive last season and carried his form into the Under-20 World Cup where he impressed further. It was reported that Chelsea were keeping tabs on him from close quarters.

The Blues even made a formal approach for the boy wonder with a bid of £12 million. Sporting, however, rejected that bid swiftly, maintaining that Bruma will be going nowhere at least for the next 12 months. There has been no counter offer from Chelsea since Sporting’s response as manager Jose Mourinho has moved onto bigger priorities for the summer.

This story has now resurfaced as Bruma is trying to personally persuade the management at Sporting to accept Chelsea’s offer and let him depart for Stamford Bridge. The winger is highly keen to work under Jose Mourinho next season and wants to make this a reality soon by pulling strings himself. Bruma’s pleading is starting to show some effect, as it was reported by Metro that Sporting are apparently reconsidering their firm stance over their his future and whether to possibly entertain Chelsea’s counter offer, if it comes along.

This new twist will certainly encourage Chelsea who are being indirectly given a strong hint to come back with an improved bid for Bruma. It is understood that Sporting are valuing him at £15 million, and any bid in that region will be enough to convince them to part ways with the attacker. It looks like Chelsea face the most serious competition from Turkish giants Galatasaray.

It is highly possible that Mourinho will again squeeze in Bruma’s transfer in his to-do list in the coming weeks after being given a strong indication of Sporting and Bruma’s willingness for a transfer. Do you see the Portugese manager returning with an improved bid in the coming days and securing this transfer once and for all to fulfill Bruma’s dreams of gracing the English game at such a tender age?
