Spanish giants planning sensational raid on Stamford Bridge

La Liga giants Real Madrid are planning a sensational raid on Stamford Bridge this summer, according to reports from Spanish source Diario Gol.

Madrid president Florentino Perez is reportedly unhappy with the current situation at the Bernabeu, with Los Blancos currently residing in fourth place in Spain’s top flight and 16 points leaders Barcelona having just lost their third consecutive El Clasico at home.

Perez is already eyeing Chelsea boss Antonio Conte as a replacement for manager Zinedine Zidane – a man he has described as a ‘rotten apple’ in the Madrid dressing room.

Unless Zidane can guide his side to a third consecutive Champions League trophy, the Frenchman is unlikely to remain in his job come May – and Conte is the favourite to succeed him with the Italian allegedly unhappy at Chelsea.

Should the former Italy and Juventus boss make the switch to the Bernabeu, it is believed Madrid want Conte to bring with him two of his star players in Eden Hazard and Thibaut Courtois.

Madrid have been tracking the Chelsea duo for a number of months, however have had no luck in their pursuit of the Belgian internationals. However, they hope a move for Antonio Conte could help persuade the superstar pair to swap London for the Spanish capital.

Madrid want to duo to reinvigorate their ageing squad, and match the recent efforts of Barcelona in the transfer market, who have spent nearly £300 million on just two players over the last six months.

The Catalans, who top La Liga, recently completed the £146 million signing of Brazilian Coutinho, and signed Frenchman Ousmane Dembele from Borussia Dortmund in the summer for a fee of around £95 million.
