Sneijder In Line For Shock Chelsea Move?

The 28-year old Sneijder has only recently moved to eventual Turkish champions Galatasaray in January and he has since featured 12 times for them. Prior to the transfer, his relationship with officials at former club Inter Milan turned sour over a period of time, especially after Mourinho left Inter to join Real Madrid back in 2010.

Sneijder and Mourinho struck up a great professional partnership together, which culminated in great success for both of them, especially in the 2010 season when Inter Milan won the unprecedented treble of Serie A, Copa Italia and the UEFA Champions League. Soon after, Mourinho departed for Madrid and Sneijder stayed put. However he could not create that same relationship with any other manager since then.

Mourinho left Madrid at the end of the the current season, and was only recently re-appointed as Chelsea boss. He returns to the club where he enjoyed huge amounts of success previously, and is now back at Stamford Bridge to recreate that magic and to relive those glory days. Now that the speculation surrounding Mourinho’s transfer has died down, this has however given rise to fresh rumours as to who will be the players the Portugese will bring to Chelsea in the summer.

The first name to be linked is Sneijder. Though the Dutchman has reiterated that he is happy staying put in Turkey, these rumours have been growing day by day, and DailyMail believe that a shock reunion is very much on the cards in the coming weeks. He was reported by the media talking up his relationship with Mourinho where he said, “I have a great relationship with Jose Mourinho.”

“We have kept in contact since our days at Inter Milan. Does Chelsea need a playmaker? I’m not sure. In football you can never be certain of what will happen next but I’m very happy in Turkey.”

Though the odds of this deal happening are very small, this is football and we cannot rule out anything! Do you genuinely see this deal happening?
