According to Football Insider, Chelsea have expressed their interest in 28-year-old Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins after his impressive performances at Euro 2024.
The striker had a career year for Aston Villa last season, scoring 19 goals in 37 appearances whilst also recording 13 assists. He also scored a crucial winner in England’s Euro 2024 semi-final against the Netherlands which sent the three Lions to the final.
According to the rumors, the Blues would want to sign Watkins as part of a swap deal for an England teammate Conor Gallagher whose value is estimated at around £42 million.

How likely is Chelsea to sign Ollie Watkins?
Chelsea have been linked with several strikers including Victor Osimhen, Alexander Isak, and Julian Alvarez alongside Watkins so there is every chance that they may pursue one of the other options.
The Watkins deal will come down to whether the Villa striker wants to leave Unai Emery’s club who will be in the Champions League this upcoming season after finishing fourth last year.
Furthermore, if the transfer were to include Conor Gallagher, that would add an extra moving part that would need agreeing alongside Watkins.
