Chelsea were awful against Arsenal on Wednesday night. The number of defensive mistakes they made was inexplicable but the big issue manager Thomas Tuchel has is that he doesn’t really have the personnel to change things.
Antonio Rudiger has already been ruled out for the West Ham game with a groin injury, while Andreas Christensen is also a major doubt.
Trevoh Chalobah and Thiago Silva are expected to be recalled to the starting eleven, and they could make up part of a back three along with Cesar Azpilicueta (who didn’t have the best of games midweek). Reece James and Marcos Alonso will line up as the two wingbacks.
In midfield, Mateo Kovacic remains on the treatment table, but Jorginho could be reinstated alongside N’Golo Kante, with Ruben Loftus-Cheek dropping to the bench.
Up front, Romelu Lukaku’s form woes continued versus the Gunners so the Belgian is likely to be benched in favour of Kai Havertz, with Mason Mount and Timo Werner keeping their places.
Chelsea’s Predicted XI To Play West Ham:
Mendy, James, Azpilicueta, Silva, Chalobah, Alonso, Jorginho, Kante, Mount, Havertz, Werner
