Should Chelsea Re-sign This Unbelievable Striker?

If rumors are true, the whole Matic deal will go down again only this time it will cost Chelsea much more. According to Metro, Chelsea is interested in re-signing top goal-scorer Romelu Lukaku who right now has 7 goals more than Chelsea’s top man, Diego Costa. Everton’s striker is second in the Premier League and could very well get past Jamie Vardy if he continues down the same road.

Now that Mourinho is gone, the Belgium international would not have any problem re-joining Chelsea from where he was moved on by Mourinho. He was sent on loan, he was refused a transfer and then sent back on loan. He was determined to stay but was pressured into leaving by The Special One who finally sold the 22-year-old in July 2014. What is even more interesting is that this guy went through so many things and he is so young. He has so much to learn and so much talent to exploit. In the right hands Lukaku could be the next Ibrahimovic.

Even though it might sound outrageous to re-sign a player who they sold. The problem is that Everton are asking for twice what they paid in 2014 meaning that Lukaku is now valued at £56million. It is a lot of money for a player who was in your back yard. It`s also a lot of money for a player who needs to compete with Diego Costa. Sure he is young but he is no longer in need of being in the shadows. He is the man you need in front of goal but on the other hand so is Costa. Given the current lot problems, money should be directed towards the defense and maybe towards the midfield. If rumors are true and Chelsea are also interested in let`s say Pogba, I’d go for the Frenchman. Costa is doing a good job given the circumstances and given the season Chelsea is having. The Spaniard is scoring more now and chances are Lukaku would end up playing second fiddle again. With that in mind, the young Belgian may not look like the right investment to make right now.
