N’Golo Kante
The Frenchman is out of contract at the end of the season but, despite the service he has given the club, the Blues are reluctant to hand him a new long-term deal.
Kante’s poor recent injury record means handing the midfielder a lengthy extension is a massive risk and the club are right not to give in to his demands. If he softens his stance over the length of the contract, a compromise could still be found.
