The 31-year-old, Darijo Srna has spent the last eleven seasons with Shakhtar and has won 18 major trophies with the Ukrainian outfit. The club captain has been continually linked with a big money move to top European clubs but has always remained loyal to Shakhtar.

According to TEAMtalk, the right-sided player has now revealed that he turned down a chance to join Chelsea or Bayern Munich. He remains confident that he made the right choice in staying in Ukraine as he had to think about his family before considering a move away from the club and ultimately he knew where his priorities were.

He said, “It is true, I had two concrete offers but I listened to my heart and remained at the club with whom I grew up for 11 years. If I moved, I would get more money, but as I said, it was a decision which was written in my heart. At the end I also did that because of my family which wanted to stay.”
