Sevilla Among Trio Of Clubs Watching Chelsea’s Star’s Contract Situation

Sevilla have joined the likes of AC Milan and Inter Milan in pursuing Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas, according to reports in the Italian media.

The 31-year-old’s contract expires in the summer and he has had a frustrating start to the campaign after being sidelined with a knee injury that he sustained in pre-season.

Fabregas could speak to the La Liga club as early January about a possible free transfer at the end of the campaign and it remains to be seen where the midfielder figures in manager Maurizio Sarri’s first-team plans.

In the Spaniard’s absence, the newly installed head coach has settled on a midfield trio of Jorginho, N’Golo Kante and Mateo Kovacic. The latter signed from Real Madrid on loan last month and has started the last two Premier League games.

Fabregas will be focusing on getting his place back from the Croatian international but with his contract running down, he will also have to make a decision on his future at Stamford Bridge in the very near future.
