Serie A Heavyweights Make Contact With Chelsea Star’s Agent Over January Move

Inter Milan have made contact with Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud’s agent about a potential switch in the January transfer window, according to La Gazzetta Dello Sport.

The Italian newspaper reports that the Nerazzurri are keen on bringing in reinforcements following an outburst from Antonio Conte about the lack of depth in his squad.

Giroud would provide cover for Romelu Lukaku and, after having been signed by Conte from Arsenal for the Blues, the Frenchman is said to be ready to make the move to Italy.

France manager Didier Deschamps has already spoken out to say that the 33-year-old needs to leave Stamford Bridge for more first-team football.

Giroud has made just six appearances for Chelsea this season, with his last start coming against Leicester City in the 1-1 draw all the way back in August. With his contract also expiring in the summer, it seems almost inevitable that the forward will depart in January.
