Inter Milan are preparing a loan offer for Chelsea left-back Marcos Alonso after freeing up space in their squad for the Spanish international, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.
The Italian transfer expert says wingback Dalbert’s prospective move to Rennes could lead to Inter making a formal bid for Alonso before the transfer window closes on Monday.
Di Marzio describes Alonso as “at odds” with Chelsea and manager Frank Lampard after an incident during the 3-3 draw against West Brom last weekend. The 29-year-old was substituted at half-time following a woeful display and he decided to watch the second 45 minutes on the team bus rather than in the dugout.
The decision reportedly infuriated Lampard resulting in the player being made available for transfer. If the Spaniard does move to Inter, he would join up once again with manager Antonio Conte, who utilised the defender to great effect as a wingback during his two years at Stamford Bridge.
