Inter Milan will consider selling wingback Denzel Dumfries when the transfer window reopens in January, according to reports in the Italian media.

The Nerazzurri need to raise up to €60m before the end of the season in order to balance the books and Dumfries has been selected as the main candidate to be offloaded due to the number of potential suitors.

Chelsea considered a move for the Netherlands international in the summer and, with the Blues still looking to find cover for Reece James, they are expected to be serious contenders for Dumfries if he becomes available.

Manchester United have also been credited with an interest but it is believed that Bayern Munich will be Chelsea’s main rivals for the defender.

The Bundesliga champions were the first team to make a formal enquiry for Dumfries a few months ago and they are likely to make another attempt to sign the player in January. Inter are holding out for around €40m (£34.5m) so we shall see who wins the race for his signature.
