Serbian Sharpshooter “Honoured” By Chelsea Interest Following Reports Of £39m Offer

Eintracht Frankfurt forward Luka Jovic has admitted to being flattered by the interest being shown in him from other clubs.

Reports in Germany had suggested that Chelsea have tabled a €45m (£39m) offer for the 21-year-old, although there hasn’t been any confirmation of that.

With Barcelona and Liverpool also having been linked with the striker, Jovic said he is happy that his name is being talked about in relation to such teams:

“I’m honoured, of course, for such big clubs to show an interest in me. But right now I’m happy to be here in Frankfurt and I feel good here. At the moment I’m just concentrating on Eintracht Frankfurt, that’s my top priority.”

Jovic is on loan at Frankfurt from Benfica but the German club are expected to take up their option to buy the Serbian international at the end of the season.

The forward has scored 14 goals in just 19 league appearances this campaign and is currently ahead of Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski at the top of the Bundesliga goalscoring charts.

Jovic is actually in his second season at Frankfurt having agreed a two-year loan spell when he left Benfica back in July 2017.
