Schurrle To Follow In Kevin De Bruyne’s Steps

Chelsea seem to have created a pattern when it comes to players who lack consistency. After Lukaku, Bertrand and De Bruyne, Mourinho has now sent Schurrle away. Despite being backed up by the fact that all these names have made a big profit for the club, the Portuguese manager is still criticized for letting such amazing players leave. According to Sky Sports, Schurrle was desperate to stay and would have accepted to be a substitute for as long as it takes. Currently under contract with Wolfsburg, the 24 year old looked disappointed that the Blues sold him and brought in as a replacement, Cuadrado from Fiorentina.

Even if Schurrle did make Chelsea some money and if allowed, most think he deserved to stay. It is still somewhat of a mystery why Mourinho failed to give the German World Cup winner more chances. Hazard could be one of them mostly because the Belgian has had such an impressive spell at Stamford Bridge and is seen as next in line to become the best player in the world.

It is very likely that just as de Bruyne, Schurrle will have a chance to truly show his qualities in the Bundesliga. The Germans are now second and will probably play in the Champions League next year. Schurrle cost Wolfsburg £24.6million which is more than Chelsea spent when signing the winger from Leverkusen. Hopefully, his new club’s confidence in his abilities, will allow the 24 year old to show the world why Chelsea signed him in the first place and that it was a mistake to have let him leave.
