Sarri Looking to Reunite With Serie A Goalscoring Ace At Chelsea

Chelsea could have a chance of recruiting AC Milan striker Gonzalo Higuain in the January transfer window, according to reports in Italy.

The Rossoneri loaned the 31-year-old from Juventus in the summer, and have the option of signing the forward on a permanent basis at the end of the season for €36m.

However, the Serie A club are facing UEFA Financial Fairplay sanctions, and Higuain could be sacrificed in order to balance the books. Milan owners Elliot Management are also reportedly keen to cut the loan short in order to reduce the wage bill.

Higuain was the Serie A’s leading scorer under Maurizio Sarri at Napoli, scoring 36 goals in the 2015/16 campaign, and reports suggest that the Argentine could move to Stamford Bridge with the Blues seeking a new striker.

Both Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud have failed to convince this season and a move to England for the Milan striker may satisfy all parties. Whether the switch goes ahead, we shall wait and see.
