Sarri introduces new training method to keep players happy

Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has reportedly tweaked one thing at the club in order to keep his players on side with his philosophy.

The Italian arrived at the club this summer following the departure of Antonio Conte. The atmosphere around the Blues’ camp can’t have been an easy thing to handle for any manager, but Sarri seems to have settled the storm that he walked into.

Various players were unhappy at Conte, and wanted out of Stamford Bridge. Sarri has managed to keep all but one of his stars, and has settled the squad with his new found methods.

Sarri has reportedly reversed several unpopular methods that were introduced by Conte: including relaxing strict diet plans and allowing players to stay at home before night matches at the Bridge.

And according to the Sun, he has now moved some training sessions to the afternoon, meaning his players can spend the mornings at home with their kids.

A source told the Sun: “The new man is sympathetic to the players and their lives outside football.

“A lot of it comes from the fact Maurizio had a life outside football before becoming a coach and therefore doesn’t see it as the be all and end all.

“He is working them hard and sometimes there are double sessions.

“But he is also mindful they have young families and a good way to keep them happy is with some freedom.

“That includes letting them train in the afternoons and enjoy a morning with their kids and families.”

Chelsea have won their opening two games of the Premier League season, both in fairly convincing fashion.

Sarri has certainly won over the majority so far, let’s hope he can continue to keep the peace at Stamford Bridge.
