Ryan Bertrand Set To Leave Stamford Bridge For One Last Time

After spending 6 seasons playing for teams other than Chelsea, Bertrand will probably be given the chance to make his next move a permanent one. According to the Daily Express he is currently being monitored and also being offered deals by both Tottenham and Liverpool who look keen on signing the 24 year old English international. The problem is that Mourinho does not seem keen on letting him leave for less than £8m which is a bit too much apparently for the teams chasing him.

Chelsea might have to send Bertrand on loan for yet another year if rising star Ben Davies is allowed to leave Swansea. He would cost Liverpool and Tottenham less than Bertrand who is also 3 years older than Davies.

One thing is for sure, Bertrand will not be starting next season for the Blues. With Filipe Luis apparently coming to Stamford Bridge sometime next week, there is little chance for the English international to stay in London and play in the Chelsea first team. He was already sent to Aston Villa despite Mourinho not having any other option for the left-back position.

It is just a matter of time until the 24 year old leaves and it all depends on Luis’s arrival. Selling Bertrand will pay for almost half the price Atletico have agreed to. Bertrand seems to be in the same situation as Lukaku who is also done with leaving on loan deals and needs some security as far as his future club goes.
