Ruben Loftus-Cheek ‘angry’ he was not allowed to leave Chelsea this summer

Ruben Loftus-Cheek is angry that he was not allowed to leave Chelsea this summer, according to reports.

The 22-year-old spent last season on-loan with Crystal Palace, where his impressive displays earned him a spot in Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the World Cup.

Palace tried to re-sign him following the tournament, however Chelsea re-buffed the Eagles’ approach, instead choosing to keep him at Stamford Bridge for the new season.

Chelsea also dismissed approaches from both AS Monaco and Schalke for the youngster, which according to The Sun, angered the England international.

Loftus-Cheek cut-short his holiday post-Russia to re-join with the Blues and new manager Maurizio Sarri, however has managed just 22 minutes of first team action so far this season.

The Blues also completed moves for both Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic from Napoli and Real Madrid during the transfer window, leaving Loftus-Cheek even further down the midfield pecking order in South West London.

Loftus-Cheek started 21 Premier League games for Palace last season, scoring twice as Palace avoided relegation from the Premier League.
